What are the types of input documents for SG3?
In general, input documents consist of information documents, liaison documents from other
SGs or Offices, revisions to recommendations or reports, and additional database information.
All documents must be presented during the meeting. The meeting agenda consists of an
opening plenary session to distribute the documents to each working group, followed by
discussion in sub-working groups and drafting groups, if necessary, to revise the documents.
Once the documents have been revised, the process is reversed and the documents are approved
at working group level. For a Recommendation, approval at the study group level is required.
Participants who need to revise documents for approval must finish the revisions within
the meeting period, so it is a busy schedule for them.
Further discussion can take place in Correspondence Groups (CGs) after the meeting.
CGs are informal groups that discuss specific topics via email or online meetings.
The frequency of meetings varies from group to group. Summary documents are usually prepared
and discussed before the next SG3 meeting.
